Art is something I've always been extremely passionate about. Sculpting, working with my hands, and creating something from essentially my mind. Each one of these pieces reflects both my love for art as well as medicine. When creating these pieces, I wanted to focus on prosthetics and the human body. The arms and feet, go from the original prosthetic with the leather strap and hook, to a more arm like prosthetic that ties around, to a very modern prosthetic which contains wires and electricity. All of these pictures are handmade with clay. There was no stencil, mold, nothing. I believe that these pictures demonstrate many qualities of me personally. Creativity, dexterity, attention to detail, and perfectionism. Being able to work great with your hands, and getting the perfect sutures is essential when you go into the field of plastics. As a plastic surgeon, you essentially need to create something from nothing, or fix something that is broken. I look at it like an art. You have to come up with the most creative ways to produce the best outcome. I know that this is something that I will enjoy doing and love doing. Taking two of my passions and creating a career would allow me to reach the job of my dreams.
